Arouna builds the kamale ngoni, also known as the “West African Harp,” from beginning to its end. The instrument’s foundation lies in a strong neck, typically made from Purple Heart wood. The base of the n'goni is made from a calabash (usually from Burkina Faso)- a strong West African gourd. Goat or calf skin is stretched to the calabash.

These instruments are hand made according to the traditional West African method. You can custom order them from 10 strings small size $899 to a full size 16 strings $1699. All prices includes shipping and handling within the continental US.
